About Bani
Bani Malhotra, Ph.D., ATR-BC is a registered, board-certified art therapist and a Postdoctoral Fellow at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She is a clinician-researcher with research interests in accessible art therapy intervention design and development; neurophysiological mechanisms and active factors of change; and media application in the context of improving health and well-being outcomes. She is experienced in supporting grant funded research projects on psychosocial and art therapy interventions for injury and chronic illness rehabilitation, stress, and adversity. Bani has authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed articles related to art-neuroscience frameworks, active factors, and use of varied art media in art therapy practice in diverse settings.
